When I saw that cartoon this morning, my first thought was:
I wonder if anybody else reading this will know what “Melmac” is.
Second was I wonder if anybody else will know what a “Pot luck” is.
I was going to try an work the Methodist question when I realized that it might be that nobody else ever reads what I read.

The planet Melmac came from a cheapo line of dishes also called Melmac that are enormously popular amongst Methodist potlucks. I can think of 5 different Methodist churches I’ve been at—on both coasts of the country—that have Melmac dishes. I wonder if the UMC has stock in the company.
