The Atlantic’s resident expert in obstetrics has two posts up today about Sarah Palin’s last pregnancy. TWO! He just can’t seem to let anything go with this woman. Just as there is no reason I can see for people to heap such praise upon her, neither is there any reason for this dogged pursuit of nothing.
What a sad little man he has become.

I haven’t checked that site since mid-September. It’s really impressive that his obsession with her inner goings on continues. If an expecting father blogged this much about his wife’s pregnancy, it would be over the top.
On a couple of occasions I’ve attempted to form theories about it, but when everything is factored in – 1. the alien-ness of female reproduction to men of his persuasion; 2. his past reaction to the time his private life became the subject of scurrilous “journalists;” 3. the sheer weirdness of being this fascinated with a complete stranger’s pregancy, 4. the unshakable conspiracy theory that somehow there’s something scandalous or nefarious about a married woman’s pregancy (perhaps this relates back to the lack of knowledge inherent in 1?) – put this one way out of the reach of my psychoanalysis. I don’t really like to say that other people have “issues,” but I’ll say it here.
