One of the most substantive policy books I’ve read.

It’s the sort of thing where you really hope it’s a lie.
The audio link Jamie posted sounded pretty genuine to me.
No, I know Rush said it; pretty sure I heard it live. I just hope he was lying.
Well there is no doubt that none of three of you actually listened to the complete broadcast. I really get a kick out the adolescent crap you put out there for us to read and get a laugh. I think the three of you would fit right in with that other esteemed blogger Andrew Sullivan and his oh so cogent thoughts about St. Sarah of Wassilla.
Well then, Mr. Schoentag, as you are obviously a more careful listener and mature political thinker than any here, show us the proper way to understand the above quote.
Geoff don’t feed the brain addled trolls. The hilarious part is that Apollo is hardly one to be classified with myself let alone Sullivan.
Note to Ken: When Apollo abandons you, you’ve probably said something stupid.
Of course I didn’t listen to the complete broadcast – it’s 3 hours, and I’m a distressingly busy guy. I was going home to get something, and listened to the half an hour or so. I’m a Rush fan, I like most of what Rush says, but not everything he says is something I’m willing to stand behind.
If you’ve read much of this site, I pretty frequently defend things that Rush said and were taken out of context. This line was not taken out of context. It was a bit of hyperbole, on a topic where there is absolutely nothing but hyperbole (Including that statement?–Ed. Yes.) Lots of people say hyperbolic things all the time. Sometime they’re funny enough to be howlers; this is one of those.
Jamie: you’re no fun anymore.
I drink less now.
That explains a lot of grouchiness.
But I suspect Jamie drinks better these days……..
Absolutely! I hardly ever slam my drink into the side of my face anymore!
